Funded by the Helping Africa Foundation (HAF), the Yamoransa Model (YM) Labs Program is hosting its first Annual Impact Roundtable Discussion (AIRTAD ’22) and Robotics Competition from February 23rd – 24th, 2022, at the Accra Digital Center, in Accra, Ghana.

The theme for this year’s AIRTAD and Robotics competition is “Complementing the Government’s Efforts To Promote STEM Education in Ghana – The Role of the Yamoransa Model Labs Program.”

Over the past five years, the Yamoransa Model Labs Program has benefited over 73,000 students in 125 schools in Ghana and The Gambia. At the Primary, Junior High, and Senior High School levels, the program sharpens their critical thinking skills and provides practical knowledge of Information Technology and Robotics. Students also use the technology to learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as well as English and Social Studies, which equips them to be life-long learners as well as pass their exams with flying colors.

This maiden edition of AIRTAD will showcase the good work done by the Helping Africa Foundation with the Yamoransa Model Labs Program to impact students’ lives.  The robotics competition associated with AIRTAD will be an avenue for the students to show off the theoretical and practical skills acquired.

Beyond telling the stories of the enormous successes attained over the past five years, AIRTAD ’22 will promulgate its vision and partner with Non-Governmental Organizations, Government Agencies, Corporations, and other development partners (national and international), who share an interest in promoting STEM education in Ghana, The Gambia, and the world.

ACTIVITIES SCHEDULE

The two-day event will commence on February 23, 2022, at the Accra Digital Center from 9 am-4 pm. Three different panels will discuss the YM labs and the various issues in STEM education in Ghana.

Panel 1:  The Impact of the YM Labs Program on the beneficiary schools.

Panel 2:  The YM Labs Program – Five years on with Key Stakeholders.
