Yamoransa Model

he Ministry of Communications in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) selected Nkonya Ahenkro in the Oti Region as the location for the 7th Yamoransa Model Lab as part of efforts to support practical education in Ghana.
The lab, funded by the Helping Africa Foundation, and managed by IMPLEMENTERS, is near completion and will be commissioned on November 19, 2020.
The 7th model lab comprises two fully equipped 25 seater ICT centres, a maker space for Robotics, 3D printings, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) learning and a conference room for training and workshops. It also has a system attached, that ensures that students are timed to use the facility. This system increases patronage figures and student motivation towards usage.
The Lab will be serving 27 schools in the district as a way of promoting practical education. Based on extensive needs assessment and stakeholder engagements, the various components of the Lab were incorporated as an appreciation of the need of the community in practical education and catching up with technological growth.
