IMPLEMENTERS has undertaken needs assessment for the upcoming Yamoransa Model Labs 13 and 4.1 in the Savannah and Northern Regions of Ghana respectively.

The Yamoransa Model Lab 14 when completed would be situated in Damongo, the regional capital of the Savannah region while Lab 4.1, the second YM Lab in the Northern Region, would be located in Ghana Senior High School, Tamale.

During the needs assessment, the Municipal Chief Director of Damongo Municipality, Mr. Petro P. Ankorle expressed great excitement about the choice of the municipality to host the upcoming YM Lab. He disclosed that the municipality  currently does not have any functional ICT and Robotics center hence the YM Lab will go a long way to contribute to the digitization of  the Damango Municipality in its bid to support the holistic development of the area.

In a similar development at the Ghana Senior High School, Tamale, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. M.Y. Mustapha assured the project team of their preparedness and readiness to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure this project comes to fruition.

Speaking at the focus group discussion aimed at discussing the overview of the lab and the roles of the various stakeholders, the old students of the school, represented by the President of the Northern Chapter – Mr. Duli-Lana Ibrahim, extended their appreciation to the team and the Helping Africa Foundation for such a great initiative in their alma mater and the impact it would have on their dream to offer I.C.T as an elective subject in the school.

The needs assessment process of the Yamoransa Model Labs project seeks to identify the needs of the community in relation to the project specifications and bring all stakeholders to speed with their roles and expected commitments in making the project a success.
