Event Overview:
The Annual Impact Roundtable Discussion and Robotics Competition is a high-impact event aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. It brings together stakeholders in education, technology, and community development while showcasing talent in robotics and STEM fields.
Responsibilities:
1. Event Setup and Logistics:
- Assist in setting up the event venue, including seating arrangements, registration desks, and exhibition areas.
- Support the technical team with equipment setup (projectors, sound systems, robotics displays).
- Organize and distribute event materials (badges, brochures, programs).
2. Registration and Guest Assistance:
- Manage the registration desk, ensuring smooth check-ins for participants.
- Provide information and direction to attendees about event schedules, locations, and activities.
- Act as point-of-contact for VIPs, panelists, and robotics teams, ensuring they are comfortable and well-informed.
3. Robotics Competition Support:
- Assist teams in navigating competition rules and guidelines.
- Provide on-ground support during the competition, including managing team schedules and ensuring the availability of required materials.
- Help judges with score tallying, ensuring accuracy and fairness.
4. Roundtable Discussion Assistance:
- Provide logistical support to panelists and moderators during the roundtable sessions.
- Distribute microphones, manage Q&A sessions, and oversee timekeeping to ensure sessions stay on track.
5. Crowd Management and Safety:
- Monitor the movement of attendees to prevent overcrowding in key areas.
- Work with the security team to ensure safety and emergency procedures are in place.
6. Post-Event Support:
- Assist in packing up and ensuring all materials and equipment are returned to their designated locations.
- Gather feedback from attendees via surveys or informal interviews.
- Help compile post-event reports as requested.
Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adapt and take on diverse responsibilities as needed.
- Basic understanding of robotics or a passion for STEM (preferred but not mandatory).
- Passion for community engagement, technology, and education.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Availability to commit to pre-event training and the full duration of the event.
- Familiarity with event management or robotics (preferred but not required).
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as moving materials or standing for extended periods.
- Should have active social media accounts
Commitment:
- Availability for a full day or multiple days of the event, including setup and teardown.
- Attendance at pre-event briefing sessions for role assignments and training.
