Across Africa, young people are driving solutions to some of the continent’s biggest environmental challenges. Recognising this, IMPLEMENTERS joined partners of the Young Green Entrepreneurs (YGE) Programme, led by the Strategic Youth Network for Development (SYND), to co-organise the African Youth Conference on 12th September 2025 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.
The conference was held against the backdrop of a growing concern that many young people in Africa remain unemployed despite the continent’s immense potential. The African Youth Conference seeks to change this reality by promoting innovative, inclusive, and sustainable pathways for young people to lead in green entrepreneurship, climate action, and natural resource governance.
The conference, themed “Building the Green Economy: Entrepreneurial Pathways for African Youth in a Just Transition,” provided a platform for young innovators, policymakers, and development partners to discuss how Africa’s youth can lead the green economy through innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration.
The event featured a high-level fireside chat, keynote addresses from partners, and an expert panel discussion, which drew an engaged audience of young entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and sustainability advocates.
Speaking on behalf of IMPLEMENTERS, Daniel Ntiamoah Danquah, Senior Partnerships Associate, emphasised the organisation’s ongoing commitment to empowering youth through innovation and partnerships. He highlighted IMPLEMENTERS’ role as a key enabler within the YGE ecosystem, noting how collaboration between development partners, private sector players, and youth-led initiatives is vital to building resilient, green economies.
The African Youth Conference amplified the conversation around youth-led green entrepreneurship and the power of partnerships to drive sustainable change. For IMPLEMENTERS, participation in this event reaffirmed our mission of empowering individuals and communities through initiatives that support innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable development.
