Project Highlight
IMPLEMENTERS (IMP) Conducts a Monitoring Visit towards the Completion of the 14th Yamoransa Lab
On August 31st, the IMP Project Team travelled to Kaleo, in the Nadowli District of the Upper West region of Ghana for a technical monitoring visit of the 14th Yamoransa Lab. Led by IMP’s Senior Project Associate, Aldric Allotey, and Project Associate, Jonathan Amposem, the team alongside representatives from the Helping Africa Foundation (HAF), embarked on a comprehensive tour of the project. At the current stage, the building is approximately 65% complete, with the superstructure in place and ongoing work including electrical installation, landscaping and equipment procurement.
During the need assessment at the initial stage of this project, it became clear there was a significant gap and lack of modern technology including computers and robotics in the community. The new lab is expected to address these needs, and positively impact students. Just like every YM Lab, this will be furnished with a Maker Space equipped with robotics, AR/VR learning, and 3D printing, along with solar power supported by backup batteries, an independent water source, and fully accessible washrooms.
The inclusion of the ASANKA device will further enrich the educational experience, supporting both students and educators in their pursuit of technological proficiency.
As the construction progresses, IMP remains committed to monitoring and supporting the project to ensure its successful completion and its contribution to sustainable educational development in Kaleo.
